Cleaning the bathroom is my LEAST favorite chore…and I actually love to clean. No matter what I try, it seems like the glass is always blurry and and I cannot get rid of the hard water stains.

Saratoga Springs is named after the natural mineral springs that made it a popular health destination at the beginning of the 1900’s. Our natural spring water is awesome until you try to scrub the mineral residue out of your bath and shower.

I’ve recently purchased Young Living Oils in an effort to decrease our family’s exposure to toxins and to try out some of the natural wellness benefits of essential oils. Last night, while reading up on the use of oils for cleaning, I came across a Pinterest post by Urban Mommies on shower doors. Cue the angels singing!

I quickly mixed up the following according to their directions:

  • 2 cups hot water (always use a glass container when mixing essential oils)
  • 10 drops YL Lemon Essential Oil
  • 6 drops Thieves Essential Oil

I kid you not. I got into the shower and wiped away every bit of soap scum and hard water with a wash cloth. It was so simple! I put the wet cloth in the laundry room so that I could throw it in the wash for extra fresh towels. No harsh chemicals, no fumes. Just the delicious fresh herbal smell of oils.
