Each year, we look forward to our family trip to the shore.
We gather together–aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings, parents and grandparents. Our umbrellas and beach chairs take over a massive chunk of the shore line and children run all over the place. It is magic.
It makes me happy to belong to this big, beautiful, crazy family. It makes me smile when all of the littles have blue ice cream on their faces and talk excitedly about when Auntie Norah will show up with her famous Crunchie bars.
We’ve made traditions over the years–the boardwalk, ice cream night, donuts for breakfast and the dinner at our favorite grill sans kiddos for the evening. It’s family.
*We are still oiling up– bug spray, cooling lavender after sun spray, cedar and lavender for sleep. Peppermint helped us on the road with car sick tummies. The kids love the way they smell and the soothing way it gives them comfort.
Soothing Lavender After Sun Spray
- 2 tablespoons Fractionated coconut oil
- 2 tablespoons witch hazel or vodka
- 10-15 drops lavender
- distilled water–enough to fill 6 oz glass spray bottle
Shake it up and spray on after sun. Cool and comforting to sun kissed skin.
