This winter has been ENDLESS. It felt so good to see the sun this week and enjoy the opening weekend of our downtown farmer’s market! And, there is always the excitement of living in a horse racing town during derby weekend 🙂
We were happy to stroll the farmer’s market and check out our favorite booths– Pucker’s Pickles is typically our first stop! My son and I love it all! From sweet to spicy…pickles to kimchi…yum! I bought a big bag of fresh baby greens to enjoy for dinner with black bean burritos (oh vegan cinco de mayo!) and the kids enjoyed their first delicious chicken pot pie of the season from the Food Florist. Their pre-prepared meals are incredible and already frozen so that it’s easy to stock up for days when you don’t feel like cooking.
Of course we had to walk down Broadway after the farmer’s market and see who won the Dog Day coloring contest at Impressions of Saratoga. This lovely shop is one of our favorite places and they frequently do fundraisers for animal welfare in our community.
We ended up watching the Kentucky Derby at home bc the hubs is on call this weekend. My son picked the winning horse and we all cheered Justify to victory! I won’t lie–muddy tracks are terrifying and I was so glad to see that none of the horses slipped.
Cheers to summer in our sweet little city!
